EarthQuakes
Seismology is the study of earthquakes and seismologists are the people that study earthquakes. Seismologists have realized that most earthquakes occur along tectonic plate boundaries. They occur along tectonic plate boundaries because the tectonic plates will push toward each other or pull away from each other. Another thing that they do is slip past each other. These are called faults which make earthquakes occur. Earthquakes are the shaking of the ground due to the movement of the Earth's crust. An earthquake's strength is measured by the Richter Magnitude Scale. A seismograph can record the seismic waves which determine how strong the earthquake was. There are two types of seismic waves the P waves and S waves. The focus point is where the earthquake starts and the epicenter is the point right above where an earthquake starts. This is some of the interesting things about earthquakes.
